CLIMATE CHANGE AND ECONOMIC IMPACT

Global warming is a very serious issue that humans have to face. From the past few decades, we had been sabotaging, polluting the earth. I was watching TV (TVBS Sisy's World News)one day with my dad ( by the way it is 文茜世界週報), I was shocked by what I heard. Many coastal countries will be underwater by 2050 according to a research conducted by a number of scientists . So, how can a normal person like me help the earth?

There are many ways, for example, to reduce carbon footprint, recycle, and support the use of green energy. What I do to help the earth is pretty simple, I don’t regularly use the air conditioning. For example, even when the weather is hot and wet, I wouldn’t turn on the AC before I sleep. Instead, I would just open the window and enjoy the wind from nature. Another thing I do is go on public transportation, everyone knows that by going on public transportation, we can reduce carbon footprint. But I think I also benefit from it in other ways, I can pay less money to get on public transportation compared to taking a taxi. Finally, my family did a good job on recycling things, especially papers. As you may know, Wego is a school that is required to write a lot of stuff, meaning to use a lot of paper. In order to decrease the damage we do to our mother nature, my family has two strategies. First, before recycling the paper, we have to make sure that both sides of the paper have been used, and there should not be left too much space on the paper. Second, we put our paper on a cart and we will just take it to a place where you can sell those papers and we’ll sell it to those people. 

I know that some people think that global warming is none of their business and thinks, and if you put it another way, you are also benefiting yourself while helping the earth.
